VINTAGE NEWS SECTION BEWARE THIS WILL TAKE YOU INTO THE OLD ANGELFIRE HOSTED SITE You should bookmark this page before leaving for uncharted Angelfire Country.

HOW DID WE GET HERE, ON THE BRAVEHOST SERVER?

This will be the new home URL for the original Clanmother's Pocono Biker News. Apparently Angelfire has so screwed up their directories that we were generally unable to access our site to update it. So we moved it here to bravenet.com. Meanwhile Tucows forgot to send us the bill to renew our "poconobiker.com" domain name and some other outfit, that only sells advertising, bought it out from under us. We'll probably get another one soon but meanwhile we're here at www.poconobiker.bravehost.com . Please give us a chance to move in. At this point the only pages that are still only on the Angelfire site are the "Vintage Stories". Use them with caution. We suggest you bookmark this page so you'll always be able to get back.

Hello, and welcome.

I'm your Editor and Web Mistress. They call me the Clanmother; it's an American Indian title for a respected elder woman. I'm not maintaining this website for bucks, its a free service for my brother and sister bikers living in and around the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. I get some help in various ways from my husband "The Guru" and from friends such as "Hippy", "Freedomrider", and others.

This website was created to generate lists of places for bikers to go to relax, or to eat, or to meet one another; I need your help to do that. Please email me at pocbikr@yahoo.com , or use the link at the bottom, and let me know about BIKER FRIENDLY PLACES and EVENTS in our area, or not too far away. If you're looking for biker chat, try Bikermania (see Links page). Send us your stories and letters so this can be a true community E-zine.

We try to attend most of the biker events in our area though sometimes poverty prevents it. If you go to something and want to write about it and have it published on this site, send it in as either email or as an attachment to an email. . The  decision to publish your article will be the editor's, (99% gets published) and you will get the online credit as the author.

MANY OTHER PAGES IN THIS SITE ARE ACCESSED BY CLICKING ON THE APPROPRIATE TITLE FOUND IN THE COLUMN ON THE LEFT OF THIS PAGE.

Pocono Biker News is a WINNER! The following message was received: "Today you've won the Direct Parts "Bike Talk" Award. There is no doubt that your site exists for a good purpose. It is an asset to the biker community." Rich Siskind

This award was presented by Creative Cycle Products.com, and Direct Parts.com. We at Pocono Biker News can only say thanks, and that we'll keep trying to live up to your expectations.

THE FORMAT: We created a section called "Vintage News" which is a collection of the best of our old stories left online so new readers can get up to speed on what we've been doing in the past. More recent  stories are linked in the left column. To read the old stories you'll have to click on the Vintage news section hyperlink first, then you can pick the story you want to read.

What this did was to free up lots of web-page space for you to fill. Yes, my brother and sister Pocono Bikers, we want to hear your stories. There are lots of bike shows, sales, poker runs, charity runs, pig roasts, rallies, protests, camp-outs, concerts and swap-meets  coming up. Tell us about the bargains you found and tell us about that ultra-cool chopper or power-cruiser that just blew you away the instant you laid eyes on it. We'd love to laugh with you when you tell us about the fun you had at Harley Rendezvous, Honda Hoot, Americade, Laconia, or Seaside Heights.

Give yer Ole Clanmother a break. When she started this site she only had two part-time jobs. Now she's working a full-time job plus the two part-time ones and still sometimes finds time to webmaster this site. Don't leave it to her to do 90% of the coverage for another year too! Send us your story. Tell us about your adventures.

If you want your story published "as is" without any editing just say so. Otherwise we'll at least run it through "spell-check" and probably correct a few grammatical errors if needed. Just email your stories to pocbikr@yahoo.com
